Our Process & Pricing
Confidence in your financial future starts here. Create a life well lived by building a plan for your current or future inheritance.
Growing Up Wealthy Doesn’t Mean You Understand Money.
It Does Mean Most People Can’t Understand Your Money Worries:
-
You grew up wealthy but thinking about managing a multi-million dollar portfolio makes you break out in a cold sweat.
-
You’re tired of planning your financial future by asking Google what to do and you're ready for expert guidance.
-
You’re worried about your family falling apart after one or both of your parent’s die.
-
Someone you love died and you’re overwhelmed by the estate settlement and inheritance process.
-
You’re tired of feeling guilty, confused, and isolated because you grew up wealthy.
-
You’re concerned about our world’s problems and you want your wealth to play a role in the solutions.
You Can Live Authentically as an Inheritor, Whatever That Means to You.
Understand your money
Don’t believe your inner voice that says you can’t do this. With the right partner, you have all the skills you need to gain a deep understanding of money, investing, and your financial future.
Decide where wealth will take you
Inheriting at a young age gives you incredible freedom and privilege. Decide where you want your inheritance to take you over the next 5, 15, or 30 years. You’re in the driver’s seat.
Find joy in generosity
Don’t listen to wealthy people who want you to wall yourself off from generosity and community because of your net worth. Explore ways to give back that fit your values and expand your world.
Hi, I’m Katherine!
I help current and future inheritors manage their financial lives.
ALL parts of their financial lives, not just their investment portfolios.
I’ve been working in wealth management for almost a decade and I’m an inheritor myself.
I know this industry doesn’t understand the needs of Gen X, Millennials and Gen Z. And I know that it ESPECIALLY doesn’t understand the needs of inheritors.
I built Sunnybranch to be different: a financial planning and investment advisory firm by and for younger inheritors.

We schedule a proposal review call to recap the problems you're struggling with and outline how Sunnybranch can help you reach your financial and life goals.
-
Step 3: Dive In To Details
Our work starts by solving the financial questions keeping you up at night. We kick things off with a deep dive into every aspect of your financial life, so you can start taking charge of where things are going.

Sunnybranch Fees
As a fiduciary, fee-only financial planner I always put your priorities front and center.
That’s why I offer a variety of fee structures to meet you where you are in life.
Whichever model is best for you, I’ll be there every step of the way through your inheritance journey, answering questions to help you make informed decisions that fit your lifestyle and your values.
-
This flat-fee arrangement for financial planning services is intended for trust beneficiaries future inheritors who expect to inherit $1 million+ at any point in the future. This is intended to be a 1-3 year engagement to help you take charge of your financial future.
The engagement starts at $10,000/year and includes all the “standard” financial planning questions you may have: planning for retirement, navigating job benefits and negotiating compensation packages, planning for college, tax planning, and investment guidance.
Sunnybranch adds in a layer unique to inheritors, looking at questions like:
How do I talk to my parents about their estate plan?
Talking to siblings about what will happen when parents die?
What do I do when my parents/grandparents die?
How do I plan for two potential futures (because an inheritance is not a guarantee)?
How do I keep my kids from getting spoiled/entitled?
Hourly billing at $500/hour is also available for Washington state residents and inheritors with limited duration projects.
-
This flat-free arrangement for guiding you through the estate settlement process includes coordinating with other professionals you work with to make sure you know exactly what is happening with your inheritance and the timelines involved.
My goal is to take all of the financial questions off of your plate, so you can focus on grief, other non-financial logistics, and living your life.
Questions covered might include:
What is the timeline for an estate settlement?
What is the structure and interplay of wills, trusts, and other entities?
What are the tax impacts of my inheritance?
How do I coordinate estate settlement and distributions with an estate attorney, CPA, and other beneficiaries?
What should my first steps be after I get my inheritance money?
Billing for this package is hourly or on a retainer basis, depending on the size and complexity of the estate from which you are inheriting.
-
For one fee, starting at 1% of assets I manage on your behalf, I will help you through any technical details of your inheritance in addition to the standard investment management and financial planning.
Your questions may include:
How do I make an impact with my wealth?
How can I make sure I don't run out of money?
How can I set my kids up for success without making them entitled?
What freedom does this wealth give me/my family?
